Background
Speakerpoint is an independent audio-visual specialist that sells home cinema, speakers, and high quality audio products.
What we did
In order to allow them to make better, more dynamic pricing decisions, we created an application that gathers competitor pricing information from the web and then notifies Speakerpoint when competitors are selling products below a certain threshold.
We used Twitter as a distribution channel, with our application posting tweets to a protected account when the threshold limits were hit. Speakerpoint’s pricing team then investigate the offer and decide whether to compete or ignore the pricing. The tool also allows Speakerpoint to track campaigns or focus on particular products.
We are currently enhancing the tool to integrate with Speakerpoint’s back-end financial system in order to give a more holistic picture of the effect of campaigns and pricing decisions on the bottom line.
